  1. I like what you've written here! This guide will be useful for players that have just made their account and aren't too sure of which gamemode to pick, and for older players who are considering changing gamemodes and are unsure of the pro's and cons. What I do like to suggest here though, is to make it more attractive visually. Add some colours, some pictures, etcetera. Some examples of this could be ironman icons, and the NPC that allows you to change gamemode.

Welcome to Ataraxia, Cola! Have already had the privilege of talking to you earlier, glad to have you with us!
  3. Just your typical Ironman Goals, Accomplishments and Achievements blog, but with a slight twist. I'll be creating my own list of completionist reqs, because I disagree with some of the ones mentioned in-game. Doing the kiln 25 times? Oh hell no. I have always loved being self sufficient as an Ironman, but I just can't be bothered to grind my ass of to get to 99s. I'm just an EXP whore, I love seeing large EXP drops. So when the new Ironman modes were released, I instantly created one, and have enjoyed every single moment of it! I'll be updating this topic whenever something significant has happened to the account; a maxed skill, a rare item drop, a pet, etcetera. Account details: Name: 2595 Password: None of your business. Account mode: Novice Ironman Current perks. This list might be subject to change in the future, depending on whether I get fed up with stuff I encounter. 4. In-Game Name: 2595 Age: 21 Timezone: GMT+1, Nationality: Dutch Why do you want to be Support?: When I first joined Ataraxia, I, like most other new players, had two questions. Do I like this server? And do I like the people on this server? Both of these questions were positively answered within my first five minutes of playtime. I was wholeheartedly welcomed by both the players and the members of staff that were online. I was guided by some experienced players until I grew stronger.. Up until the moment they kicked me out of the nest to see if I could fly by myself. Luckily, I was able to. It is that amazing feeling when you get back home after a vacation that I want to provide to anyone logging into the server. Whether they’re completely new, veterans that have been playing for years, and everything that lies in between. Making sure that people enjoy their time on the server is of utmost importance to me, as I enjoy providing the same experience that I have had, and am still having. Ataraxia is an amazing server with a loving and dedicated community, including the Staff and the Developers. I am extremely happy to be a part of this community, and would be excited to be able to take it to the next level. What experience do you have?: I have held staff positions on three different servers, the smallest one was slightly larger than Ataraxia currently is. Does size matter? Well, I guess it’s up to the gentlemen in this case to decide. While this number might seem low, each of these periods exceeded a year and a half, and would end the same day the server closed. I’d like to think this shows my dedication to the places I have considered my online home. In terms of RuneScape experience itself, I have played since 2008. I haven’t played too much for the past 2 years, but when I do, it’s RS3. OSRS, while it’s great to have it, just feels like a RSPS with the EXP rate set to x1.. Meh, I just couldn't be bothered playing it. I love watching it on Twitch, though. Why should we pick you instead of someone else?: Every new person that enters the staff team carries a certain level of risk. Do they perform well? How do they affect the rest of the team? Are they here to stay? I, without doubt, can reassure you that these risks are non-existent with me. I am in good contact with the current team and the rest of the community. I’ve played since the old days where Vichy was still in charge, which has ensured me that I know most that there is to know. My current weak spot, and I am completely transparent on that, is End-Game PvM knowledge. Working on it! All other aspects of the game are incredibly solid. I am confident that I hold the characteristics that make a great player; comradery, trustworthiness, honesty, and some lovable banter when the time is right. With Ataraxia improving and growing at the rate that it currently is, I foresee a great many things, continuing for a long, long time. And I’d love to be a part in that. How much free time do you have?: At a bare minimum, 4 hours per day. There might be days where it’s a bit less, but there have been, and will be many more days where my playtime session exceeds 4 hours. I am currently still in university, so exams are unfortunately still a thing. Depending on how the procrastinating monkey in my brain feels, you might see me a lot more or a lot less in the days leading up to those periods. Don't worry, I never suddenly disappear. I hate those people. Other notes: Those who know me already know this, but for those who don’t: I am direct, in a truthful way. This usually works in my favour, but in rare situations it does work against me. I know that, and I try my very best to pay attention to this. I never intend to hurt or offend anyone with what I say, but it has happened in the past. I believe some banter is great, and an absolute necessity to bond with each other. The only condition that must be met, is the presence of mutual respect. When there's no mutual respect, toxicity lurks closely. I really, really dislike toxicity. Thanks to everyone in advance for reading this, whoever you may be. And to the Staffteam, thank you in advance if this application will be taken into consideration.
  5. Time for some February updates! February 1st: Bernie, the Firemaking pet, at 5288 Actions! Just casually started my daily and poof, there he was February 3rd: Another Mysery Box pet obtained! My (and probably a lot of others too) favourite mbox pet, Zenn! February 7th, a good day. I have started my hunt for the ascension signets, hoping to get all necessary pieces before the end of the month. I wasn't yet greeted with the signet yet, but this is even better! The second boss pet on the account! And a couple kills later, 5 billion total exp! February 11th: By now, I have obtained all 6 signets. I didn't screenshot them, as I wanted to refrain from putting in 7 screenshots (signets plus limbs) all in here. But I did manage to get my ascension crossbow today!
  6. These armour sets are currently in the game, as a reward from the Last Man Standing minigame. I'm not too sure of the sets' stats, but I do believe that they're kind of obsolete, and could use an usability buff overall.
  7. I might have something interesting, if the EXP lock command still works. Lock your combat exp, and kill some low level monsters for a couple gold charms. Unlock your exp and use the charms to meet the threshold to be able to use Crimson and Blue charms. If you mine the fallen stars, which I highly recommend, you can get a supply cache if you hand the NPC 200 stardust at once. This cache contains Blue and Crimson charms. That'll enable you to train summoning without ever having to gain EXP in other combat stats. It would most likely take a shitload of time and effort, as you will have to focus on mining very slowly, and then continue, and requires you to bend your rules by locking the exp temporarily, but it adds bragging rights. I don't think anyone can say that they've reached 99 (or 120) summoning without having reset their combat 99s
  8. Balancing the combat triangle is a very difficult and delicate thing, especially with the server having RS3 weaponry and armour sets without the EOC that these armours were originally designed for by their first creators. It's a process of finetuning various things, a process that inevitably contains some mistakes along the way. While the development of the balancing is on the right track, I do believe that this patch contains some flaws.
  9. Welcome to Ataraxia! As E36 already mentioned, you picked the most unfortunate time to join the server. We haven't had a sudden downtime like this in forever. Right now, we've got to wait for a restart, which hopefully shouldn't take too long.
  10. First of all, welcome to Ataraxia! Glad to hear that you're enjoying it. I share your opinion that the dungeoneering armours look pretty fly! (for a white guy) and it'd be cool if there was a way to obtain these armours outside of Daemonheim. I myself much more prefer a cosmetic set or override, unlockable from performing a said task (or tasks), over it being an armour with stats. My reason for this being that Ataraxia as a server is close to RS3, in terms of content. i.e. armours, bosses, and content. There's some "custom" EXP bonus sets, but a "Custom" armour set(s) with stats attached to them is not something that lies in Ataraxia's nature. Having said that, if there could be a way to implement these armours, with stats, without disrupting the current system and line of progression, I'd be happy to support that. With this being your suggestion however, I think that could be food for your thoughts.
  11. Thank you for the majority of this update. the QOL, Mole and the combat triangle balancing are very, very nice. However... I cannot say thank you for certain elements of this patch: The T87 weapons no longer being repairable: These weapons have gone from completely non-degradable, to completely degrading to dust in a months time, why did you choose for this, rather than leaving them repairable? Did someone watch Avengers: Infinity War again and were they inspired by Thanos's finger snap? Many people had only just begun to use their T87 weapons and have them in the 20, 30 and 40% charged range. Are you telling these people now that their plan of repairing it is now worthless? Revert this, and just make the repair costs higher. I'm terribly sorry, but absolutely nobody wanted this. The removal of GWD1, Ganodermic and Various slayer drops from being chimeable. Your reasoning is that way too many people camp gano's for a couple days. I get that, so the change for Ganodermic armoury is understandable. But why remove Slayer drops and the GWD1 items? The Slayer drops aren't that common, they're a nice added bonus for newer players doing slayer. It creates a market for these items as they have a chime value. Slayer used to be a viable source of income for newer players, before moving on to bossing. With removing the market for chimable slayer drops, and lowering the scale drop drastically, I believe this distorts the line of progression players go through in an unreasonable way. GWD1 items are common, yes. That's due to how easy it is to obtain with the donator instances. There's other ways to change their influence, i.e. lowering drop rates while in aforementioned instances, or lower their chime value. TL;DR. This update is mostly great, but two elements are way too drastic, and I personally do not see the level of support that would make me sit back and just accept the change. I get the whole idea of creating an item sink, but these changes shoot right past their target.
  12. Goodluck on your goal! Will be interesting to follow your progress and how you're going to deal with certain skills (Training combat skills without gaining Hitpoints exp for example) Did you by any chance get your inspiration from that fella on youtube, called 99OneAtATime?
  13. Thanks! Hoping to not lose motivation haha Quick update: All three T70 defenders obtained!
  14. Something so small in terms of content, yet something so important for so many players out there. Great guide! You've requested feedback as this is your first written guide and all I can say is.. Make more of these! Nicely organized, coloured highlights, pictures.. What more can one ask for?
  15. Absolutely loving this batch of Updates and tweaks. One question that I didn't see answered: The Hydrix is now removed from the Common LMS reward table. Is it moved, to rare / very rare? Or completely removed from LMS
  16. It sure will! But I love working towards such goals, even at a slow rate! I'll very gladly accept that offer! I was working on one myself but.. No need to continue that one I guess! Thanks lads
  17. Thanks mate! Friendly banter is the absolute best form of communication EDIT: Main post updated with EXP, and an (almost) complete Bank! 😉
  18. Have you followed the instructions? Vote from right-to-left, and re-open Rune-Server after you vote! I myself have never had a problem while following this. Be sure to let the staff team know if there's any bugs though, rather than making a post like this.

    Hey, Im Jax!

Welcome to Ataraxia, Jax! I'm sure you'll enjoy the Server and its inhabitants!
  20. Hi Craft, First of all, I like what you've written. You're a nice guy and I can see you do well as a Support. However, right now, I'm not be able to fully support your application. I have mixed feelings and I believe that in order for someone to become a Support, I need to be able to fully support them. The reason behind this is that you've put a massive amount of hours in an extremely short amount of time, playing 8-12 hours per day as you've stated. I don't pay attention to whether you've done that or not, but at that rate it would mean that you've amassed your playtime in roughly three weeks. I would much rather prefer you sticking around for a while, and make sure you don't burn yourself out by playing too much. Then, some time in the future, I would wholeheartedly support your application. But for now, and please don't take this too personal, remember that Ataraxia isn't suitable for a speedrun. If I want to see people race through games, I'll open up Amazing Games Done Quick on Youtube or Twitch. Best of luck!
  21. Skilling contracts Recently, a post was created with the aim to boost GP profits from skilling. I kind of hijacked that topic with a small suggestion, and after valuable feedback from @lare96, @E36 and various others, I have decided to work on the details. This is the result. Enjoy! The purpose of what I am about to suggest is to draw more people to skilling, and to make it not “feel like a waste of time” because you’re not out there bossing and making money. Skilling should be decently rewarded, both in EXP as well as in GP. It should not be competitive with PvM and/or Slayer, but it should be brought closer. In addition, the vast supply of skilling resources (Bars, Logs, Bones etcetera) should be reduced, to make gathering these resources a thing newer players (and skillers) could do for money. Currently, the only thing for money that is non-combat is thieving. And let's be frank, it's quite shit. Please let me know if there is anything else you would like to see added, or perhaps even changed / removed. The addition of “The Master Skiller” Location: Home All donator zones Right click options: - Talk - Assignment/Contract - Rewards The amount of tasks a player can obtain per day is unlimited, just like with slayer. Possible Contracts: Processing tasks, such as smithing, herblore, fletching, crafting, cooking, should be way more common than gathering tasks, in order to boost a market for the supplies. I myself was thinking a 66.67% chance for processing, with a 33.33% for gathering. - Gather ... Produce (Herbs / Trees) (No other produce, nobody uses them) - Create ... (specific name) potion - Mine ... Ore - Smelt ... Bar - Smith ... Item - Cut ... Logs - Light ... Logs - Fletch ... Arrows / Bolts - Fletch ... Shortbows(u) / Shieldbows(u) -> need to find a way that this doesn’t block people with the fletching perk - Craft ... Item (dhide, molten glass, jewellery) - Fish ... Sea creatures - Cook ... Sea creatures - Make ... (Furniture name) - Catch … amount of creatures Task completion Rewards: - Base point reward: 10 - Every 10th: 25 - Every 50th: 75 - Every 100th: 125 Furthermore, when a player completes a task, EXP scaled off of players level (and gamemode) will be rewarded. Rewards from the Skilling Master - Summon me senpai ( 250 points ) Unlock Summoning tasks: When a summoning taskis received: Infuse 125 (specific) Pouches, upon completion, 50% of the used charms shall be reimbursed. Why 125? That's 5 full inventories when taking the charm, spirit shard and pouch into advance, and makes it easier to code the charm reward. This should be useful for those without the Treasure Goblin perk that for constantly fall short on charms. Not so useful for skillers that want to remain a level 3, hence the optional unlock - Aint got no time for that ( 200 points ) Block all lower tier assignments. This Blocks all assignments requiring a skill level lower than 40. - Aint got no time for that either (250 points ) Block all mid-tier assignments. This blocks all assignments requiring a skill level between 41 and 70. - Give me more! ( 400 points ) Extend all Assignments by 50%. The Assignment completion points remain the same, but all additional EXP reward increases by 50%. - 30 Access tokens ( 100 points ) These tokens will be used for the skilling zone described below. Each token will drain at a rate of one per minute, showing a similar mechanic to the Warrior Guild cyclops room. - Runespan Top Floor teleport tabs. ( 50 points each ) We all hate that walk from the Bottom floor, to where we actually want to be, right? - 100 Chimes ( 50 points ) Right, what is one of the reasons that people PvM? Chimes for days. I do not intend to make skilling as good as, or close to, PvM for chimes, but I like seeing chimes in here as one of the reasons to make these assignments worthwile. - 1000 Harmonic dust ( 150 points ) Want to get those Crystal tools, but don't have access to Priff? Or can't be bothered afking harps to get dust? There you go. New Skilling Area: Location: TBD Mechanic: Similar to the warriors guild. The Access Tokens, bought as a reward from completing assignments, are to be used for this area. They will of course be stackable and take up one inventory slot. The access tokens will automatically drain at a rate of one per minute. When you no longer have Access Tokens in your inventory, you will automatically be teleported to ;;home. Most importantly, what will this Skilling Zone include? - A farming area, containing a Tree Patch, Fruit Tree patch and 2 regular herb patches that speeds up produce growth to 0,25x RS times, as opposed to regular patches. Additionally, produce planted in these patches will not(!) be able to die. - A blood rune altar, a couple steps away from a bank chest. Perhaps with a chance of granting double blood runes? idk - A gem mining rock that does not deplete. This rock will have grant a low chance of obtaining an Uncut Onyx, and yes, an even lower chance (How does 1/20k sound?) of obtaining an Incomplete Hydrix. - A construction Dining Table spot that doesn't actually build the table. No more right-click removing! - Something for hunter -> Puro Puro impling spawns in a dedicated fenced-off area - A summoning obelisk that has a 10% chance of saving your charm when creating pouches. - A fishing spot that lets you eat the fish like fury shark would but a lower level spot like monkfish or so for not too much of a EXP boost while fully afk, until the character decides it’s time to take some rest - Trees that do not deplete, up to yew. And a couple magic trees that do deplete - A resource that awards the player with randomly given dragonhide, similar to the rocks and trees in ;;mz that award ores and logs respectively - The potion flask resource thing plus the pottery parts to turn them into potion flasks. (not the crystal flasks) While being present in this zone, Random Event NPCs will spawn at an increased rate in this, and have an increased GP reward. In the current situation, you can just ignore those NPCs and they de-spawn automatically.. They do not stop people from auto clicking etc, while they have such a great potential. As a slight rework as to their overall mechanic everywhere in the game, I suggest the following: If you ignore the NPC for more than two minutes, they will automatically teleport you to a caged area (NOT Jail) where your movement will be tracked and pinged to a Support/Mod/Admin. Perhaps to a separate staff-only discord chat, if such a thing could be synced? Two pings will be sent. 1) Player_Name has been teleported to the cage. 2) Player_Name has shown movement in the cage. Now, in order to boost the market for skilling supplies even more, I suggest a gradually implemented nerf on a bunch of PvM drops. The huge amount of resources currently being pumped into the game is near infinite, and makes them pretty much worthless. I suggest a 10% nerf per month, for the upcoming 4 or 5 months. I will aid / set up a list of all the OP supply drops. i.e. those Dragon Bones from corp.
  22. First of all, thank you for your feedback! I highly appreciate it. I must say though, I disagree with some of the points you've mentioned You've stated that the rewards, as I currently have them listed, would not be worth it to you (and other plat donators). So, my question it, how could they be improved? I'd love to hear suggestions from someone currently holding those ranks, since I don't have access to those zones with my Silver Donator status. And it is indeed tricky to think of worthwhile rewards, that aren't deemed too OP. Furthermore, your comment about it being dead content and a waste of dev time, is irrelevant to me. This new content might be useless to you, since you've maxed your Novice account, unless it's a trim req. Hey, thanks! We could implement that as well. With regards to the Dev time, I'd much prefer the Developers to determine what is, and what isn't their worth their time, and that isn't something you should decide. So far, I've only had contact with Lare, and he seemed excited! I'd love to hear feedback from the others too. As for the other points, @Con shares my exact opinion, there's no point in Copy Pasting it! My goal with this suggestion is not to replace PvM with skilling. Ataraxia is a PvM server at heart and it should remain that way. However, people don't always feel like PvM'ing, and with this I hope to create an incentive to be online for those who don't feel like PvM'ing for a while, and for those who prefer to skill over PvM to begin with. I believe that not everything should be catered to Diamonds and Platinums. You guys have done so much for the server and the rewards currently already reflect that. This suggestion will indeed benefit the other ranks (gold, silver, bronze & non-donator the most. I myself, as an Ironman(novice) going for 1Bil in all skills, do skill a lot, and it gives me time to think of things to make skilling feel more enjoyable rather than just an obligatory thing to do for Max/Comp. Right now, when some players don't feel like PvM'ing for a while, they either AFK or log off. Let's avoid that, especially when we have a lot of new players join the server! Finally, your final sentence, proudly said in bold... Yes, you've maxed your novice account, which is a great feature of time spent skilling and dedication, but it doesn't make it worth more than someone elses feedback. And it seems like that's what you were trying to portray by the way you've stated it.
  23. There's some suggestions that I like, and there's some that I don't like. I'll follow the approach @Skcam followed and will colour code my opinions, except I've added an orange one. 1) The slayer reward shop is good as it is. The purpose is of course to make money from killing the monsters itself. The herb boxes you mentioned are part of the Herbivore perk. 2) I haven't done any duo slaying myself and I'm not sure what the code limitations are regarding this. If the devs say it's easily doable, sure. If it's a hassle to get done, scrap it. 3) I don't see any purpose to this myself, it'd probably go to waste. Want to track your own collection log? make printscreens and/or keep an Excel sheet. 4) I'd like to see the SOF added for Ironmen. the ONLY argument people can come up with against this is the fact that one could get lucky spirit shields, or 100 mil cash stacks from the super rare slot. Well... why can't we just remove those from the Ironman SOF table? 5) I was actually slightly surprised that this isn't yet in the game yet. Support! 6) The bonecrusher (and ectoplasmator, lets not forget about that one) became toolbelt items in a later revision than the one we are currently using, I think. Once again, if this is not too much of a hassle to code, my full support! 7) Yep, sure. Shouldn't be an issue. 8} To home? nope. To the donator zones? Donation zones.. If there's a demand for it. Most people don't use / need a bank when they're training summoning, as it's materials to pouches to scrolls anyway. Except for yak and titan. 9) Oof, time to get a Nintendo DS and the brain trainer game? It's a handful of brothers to kill. 10) I'm joining Skcam's comment on this one. If it's doable, support. if it's not doable, scrap it.
  24. Thank you all for your support! I don't think this suggestion is completely flawless, as there's always room for improvement. But I'm absolutely thrilled with your replies!
